6 sources on design

Sources on Design -

Design with Nature -

A book primarily about Landscape Architecture, however some of the ideas it is based upon I find are relevant to any sort of design.

Explores the way in which designs can be made to create a balance between artificial and natural elements. It shows some scientific facts as well as a process in order to benefit the design, to make use of what nature offers but also does not to impose limitations. To find a balance that is beneficial to all.

Sources on Geometry -

Geometry of Design: Studies in Proportion and Composition-

Looks at the relationships between the proportions of patterns of growth in living things such as plants and animals and explores the what the geometry consists of.

Elam, K. , Geometry of Design: Studies in Proportion and Composition. New York, Princeton Architectural Press.

Is the Geometry of Nature Fractal

Explores a theory that the geometry of nature is fractal. It uses existing papers to try and back its theory with mathematical backing.

Fractal Geometry in Architecture and Design

Explains what essentially fractal geometry is and how this has been applied to different architectural aspects, proportion being one.
